One to One

On the horse (flat work and dressage): Both horse and rider’s movement patterns are analysed to assess weaknesses. By using their body correctly, the rider learns methods to help the horse become more symmetrical and balanced in his work. Not only will you be informed of the problems and what to fix, but more importantly HOW to rectify them. This is imperative as the source of the problem is very often not where it seems.

Off the horse (any discipline): This consists of postural analysis off the horse to detect imbalances and weaknesses in the body. The rider is educated on the neutral spine, correct breathing patterns, correct core engagement and pelvic stability. A personalised movement and exercise programme is then devised to correct specific alignment issues and improve body awareness.

Progress is made at the rider’s own rate with exercises becoming more challenging to prepare for mounted work. Bringing along video footage of your riding is  invaluable and encouraged in these sessions. Exercise analysis sheets are available for a small extra cost so that training can continue at home at home.

Rebecca uses small equipment and “toys” to help and challenge the rider including foam rollers, fit balls, Franklin Method balls, magic circle, therabands, instability cushions, weights, the Oov and a freeform board.

Combination: By far the most effective method, the above approaches are combined so the rider understands how to isolate different body parts off the horse, learn to use them correctly and implement the improved functioning “whole” back on the horse again.

This programme was designed for you!

 PROGRAMME OPTIONS

 LEVEL 1:  A four week programme where you will learn exercises that will specifically help with your riding.

Week 1: We look at the different “riding muscles”. Which muscles are where in the body and define what their job is when it comes to riding. We also look at your own personal issues or injuries that might add a different dimension to your body work and affect your balance or symmetry.

Week 2-4: You will be shown an exercise programme which will help you develop your body awareness, strength and length of the riding muscles and improve your balance. Because the smallest changes in the body and how you use it can really affect how you work, it is very important that the exercises are executed correctly. This is why we spend three weeks really getting to know the exercises well.

Then you are on your own to continue the work, knowing that you have learned the process correctly. You can then look forward to Level 2!                                 

 LEVEL 2: Must have completed Level 1.

Week 1: Review of the level 1 work.

Week 2-4: Level 1 is developed with slightly more difficult exercises and the introduction of props such as overballs and fit balls to add a different dimension to your work. Balance work is also tested in more challenging ways.

LEVEL 3: Must have completed Level 2

Week 1: Review of level 2 work.

Week 2-4: Hardcore time! Be prepared to sweat! You expect your horse to, so why shouldn’t you?! We also add some mental processes that will help you overcome obstacles and be able to better focus on your goals.

Any level can be repeated at anytime if you require a refresher.

If you are already involved in a fitness class, these courses can help make them more relevant to your riding and will also add variety into your routine.

Online Training

No matter where you are or how much time you have, this  four to six week program will take you to the next level of fitness and performance. You can choose from a variety of packages.

Personalised four week programme.  

Week one: Submit a video of your riding for assessment. Also complete an online questionnaire to get more details about your health, injuries, lifestyle and goals so the programme can be created.

Week two: 45 minute virtual consultation on Zoom (you can record this session for future reference) where we go through your 30 minute customised workout and a chance for you to ask any questions related to it. Then you have two weeks to really make the programme part of your daily routine so it becomes a habit. By getting to know it so well, you’ll also have more informed questions for our next consultation.

Week Four: Check in with questions or programme reassessment if necessary with another 45 minute Zoom session.
